Robert E. Kahn

1. Robert E. Kahn is an American computer scientist and Internet pioneer who co-invented the TCP/IP protocols, which are fundamental to the functioning of the internet.
2. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Cornell University in 1964.
3. In 1973, Kahn joined the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where he collaborated with Vint Cerf to develop TCP/IP protocols.
4. He was one of the founding members of the Internet Society (ISOC) and served as its first President from 1992-1995.
5. Kahn received numerous awards for his contributions to computer science and networking, including the National Medal of Technology in 1996 and the Turing Award in 2004.
6. He is currently a Senior Policy Advisor at the Corporation for National Research Initiatives (CNRI) and an emeritus fellow at the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI).
