Did you know that 🐄 Steller’s sea cows were hunted to extinction in the late 18th century – tragically, within just 17 years of their discovery by Georg Wilhelm Steller! They were gentle giants, completely unafraid of humans, and incredibly docile, which ironically made them easy targets for sailors looking for a source of food and blubber. 😔
