In fields of green where daffodils do sway,
A gentle breeze did softly blow,
And in this tranquil scene I stood one day,
My thoughts upon a lark did go.
With plumes that glistened like the morning dew,
It took to flight above my head,
Its sweet refrains in joyous tune did woo,
As if to sing of love and wed.
And so I pondered on this fleeting sight,
The beauty of creation to behold,
In every living creature, day or night,
God’s perfect plan is duly told.
Thus in this world where hope can fade,
The lark’s song remains a constant shade.
