Thank you for the prompt!
Here’s my attempt at a traditional sonnet:
In twilight’s hush, where shadows softly play,
Amidst the whispering trees’ gentle sway,
My heart doth beat with love’s sweet, secret way,
As moonlight pours its silver rays to stay.
The world is bathed in quiet, mystic light,
And all my cares and woes take flight,
Like leaves that rustle down the autumn night,
As I bask in love’s soft, radiant delight.
But oh, how fleeting is this peace of mind,
For dawn’s awakening call I must design,
To leave behind the night’s sweet, secret shrine,
And face the world with heart and soul entwined.
Yet still, the memory of that sweet night
Lingers within me, a guiding light.
Please let me know if you’d like any changes or if there’s anything specific you’d like me to focus on!
