Hello in Catawba language is Weli weli

Hello! In the Catawba language, which is also known as Katapa, you would say: "Weli weli!"

Translation: "Hello, hello!"

The Catawba (or Katapa) people are indigenous to the southeastern United States. A fascinating fact is that despite nearly being extinct in the 20th century, the Catawba language has seen a revival with efforts from community members and now has several fluent speakers.
