Beef Stir Fry with Sirloin is a quick, flavorful dish that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner or a casual gathering. This meal features thinly sliced beef sirloin, stir-fried with a variety of vegetables and a savory sauce, all cooked in high heat to lock in the tenderness and freshness of each ingredient.
Here’s a simple recipe for Beef Stir Fry with Sirloin:
Ingredients:
1. 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced against the grain
2. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3. 1 red bell pepper, deseeded and sliced
4. 1 yellow bell pepper, deseeded and sliced
5. 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
6. 2 cloves garlic, minced
7. 1 tablespoon ginger, grated or minced
8. 1 cup broccoli florets
9. 1 carrot, peeled and julienned
10. For the sauce:
– 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari for a gluten-free option)
– 1/4 cup oyster sauce (optional)
– 2 tablespoons brown sugar
– 1 tablespoon sesame oil
– 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the ingredients for the sauce until smooth. Set aside.
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
Add the sliced sirloin to the hot skillet and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until it’s just cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add onions, garlic, and ginger, stirring frequently to prevent burning (about 1 minute).
Add bell peppers and carrots to the skillet, continuing to stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes or until they’re slightly tender but still crisp.
Add broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes until they’re bright green and tender.
Return the cooked sirloin to the skillet, mixing well with the vegetables.
Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetable mixture. Stir well to coat all ingredients evenly.
Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened. If needed, you can add a little water to achieve your desired consistency.
Serve the Beef Stir Fry hot over steamed rice or noodles. Enjoy!
This recipe allows for customization based on personal preferences. You can swap out vegetables, use different cuts of beef, or adjust the sauce to suit your taste. A sprinkle of sesame seeds and green onions as garnish adds a nice touch.
