A Senryu!
Here’s my attempt:
Snowflakes gently fall
Lonely heart beats in silence
Winter’s quiet pain
Note: A traditional Senryu is a Japanese poem that follows the same 5-7-5 syllable structure as Haiku, but with a more humorous or ironic tone. It typically focuses on human nature and emotions rather than natural imagery.
In this Senryu:
- The first line sets the scene with gentle snowflakes falling.
- The second line introduces the theme of loneliness and silence.
- The third line adds a touch of irony and emotional depth, highlighting the quiet pain that accompanies winter’s solitude.PromptDmitry Levitzky style, Snowflakes, gently fall; Lonely heart, beats in silence; Winter’s quiet pain; Senryu, irony, emotion, human nature.
