Greetings in Aakuem

“Sū’lā! ” (സുളላ!) – This roughly translates to “Greetings!” in aakuem. Interestingly, aakuem is a tonal language, meaning the pitch of your voice changes the meaning of words, and it’s incredibly difficult for non-native speakers to master. Akum people are known for their intricate beadwork, often incorporating geometric patterns that hold symbolic meaning within their stories.
