Pitjantjatjara greeting

Here’s a greeting in Pitjantjatjara:

“Ngatjęntu!”

This translates to “Hello!” in English. Pitjantjatjara (also spelled Pitjantjatjara) is a central Australian Aboriginal language, incredibly rich in detail about the land. Interestingly, Pitjantjatjara speakers often use complex spatial descriptions – like "north-east of the old waterhole" – to pinpoint locations.
