1. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer born on May 7, 1840 in Votkinsk (now known as Zavolzhye). He is famous for his classical music compositions, ballets and orchestral works.

  3. Tchaikovsky’s musical career was not only prolific but his works were often innovative; his use of a large orchestra and complex harmonies helped create the basis for future compositions.

  4. Despite this success, Tchaikovsky had personal struggles such as depression and anxiety which eventually led to his untimely death on November 6, 1893 due to cholera. His legacy, however, continues to inspire generations of musicians and audiences worldwide.
