The moon glows with a gentle grace,
Its light upon the earth it traces;
A silent witness to all we are,
It casts its shadow as if from afar.
In Japanese gardens, cherry trees bloom,
A fleeting beauty that soon succumbs;
But in their essence they represent
The ephemeral nature of life, the present.
A gentle breeze rustles through the leaves,
Whispering secrets to those who grieve;
It carries with it memories long gone,
Of love and loss, all life has known.
In Chinese culture, it is said,
That the moon is where our souls are led;
The reflection of ourselves within,
A constant reminder of our sin.
But in this moment, as I behold
The beauty of the world unfurled,
I find a peace that soothes my soul,
And I am grateful for the tales we’ve told.
