Sonnet

Comments Off on Sonnet

Upon the quiet dawning of another day,
Where morning sun doth gently kiss the earth,
A silence hangs, where none shall dare to stay,
And all creation seems in sweet repart.

The skies, a canvas pale, with stars retreat,
As dawn’s first light whispers through misty veils,
Nature awakes, and life her footsteps beat,
In rhythm soft, as if to calm despair’s ills.

O morning’s grace, with hues of gold and pink,
That chase the shadows of the night away,
Mayhap thy beauty hints at love divine,
Or merely serves a purpose far more gay.

Yet, in this moment hallowed by thy light,
I find my verse, where heart and soul take flight.
