Greeting in Katapa

In Katapa, a greeting can be expressed as "Hna wotyi hne." This translates to English as "I am healthy and well." The Catawba Nation continues preserving their language, and they have developed various programs for teaching and passing it on to younger generations. A brief fun fact about the modern Catawba language is that it has been heavily influenced by other languages they came in contact with during colonial times, such as English and French.
