Tashi Dele!: Ladakh’s Greeting and Its Endangered Language

Tashi dele! (This is a traditional Ladakhi greeting, roughly translating to "good" or "happiness" in English.)

The self-name of the language is ལ་དྭགས་སྐད། (Ladakhiska), which literally means "the language of Ladakh".

Here's a fun fact: Despite being an endangered language, modern Ladakhi people are proud of their cultural heritage and have been actively working to preserve and promote their unique dialect.
