Here is a tanka I came up with:

Snowflakes gently fall
Blanketing the winter scene
Frosty morning calm
Nature’s slumber, peaceful hush
Winter’s silent beauty reigns

(Note: In traditional Japanese tanka poetry, the syllable count is usually 5-7-5-7-7. I’ve followed this structure in my attempt above.)
