Boko boko

Boko boko is a traditional dish from Nigeria that consists of balls made from grounded corn or maize, onions, spices, and herbs. It’s often served with vegetables like spinach, tomatoes, or bitter leaf, and a stew made from either meat or fish. The flavorful and tender texture of the boko boko makes it a popular choice for celebrations and family gatherings in Nigeria.

Ingredients:
– 2 cups maize meal
– 1 medium onion, finely chopped
– 1 tablespoon ground cayenne pepper (atare)
– Salt to taste
– Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, mix the maize meal with salt and water until it forms a soft dough.
2. Add onions, atare, and salt to the mixture and knead well.
3. Divide the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
5. Carefully drop the balls into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown on all sides.
6. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
7. Serve with stewed vegetables or meat, as desired. Enjoy your delicious Boko boko!
