Pan de bono

Pan de bono is a traditional Colombian bread roll that has a soft and fluffy texture, similar to a donut but without the hole. It is typically served warm and dusted with powdered sugar for an added touch of sweetness. Pan de bono is commonly enjoyed as a snack or dessert and is especially popular during holidays and special occasions.
To cook pan de bono at home, you will need the following ingredients:
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1 tsp baking powder
– 1/2 cup farmer’s cheese (queso fresco) or ricotta cheese
– 1 large egg
– 1/2 cup whole milk
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
– Powdered sugar for dusting
First, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and baking powder until well combined. Add in the cheese, egg, milk, and melted butter, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough for a few minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a round ball. Place the balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between them.
Bake the pan de bono in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Serve warm and enjoy!
