[Spring from flowers, the longing glow blooms, called by love’s voice]
Haiku are a traditional form of Japanese poetry. They consist of three lines with syllable counts as follows: 5-7-5. This haiku follows those guidelines and uses imagery commonly found in springtime to convey feelings of desire and attraction. The words ‘spring from flowers’, ‘bloom’ and ‘call’ are common images for spring, while the glow of longing is a metaphor for love. Overall, it captures the essence of new beginnings and fresh starts that come with the season of spring.
