– 3 bay leaves
– 1 tbsp (15 ml) tomato paste
– Salt and pepper to taste

1. In a large Dutch oven or heavy pot with lid, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add bacon and cook until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside on paper towels.
