Valentin Petrovich Glushko was a Soviet engineer and scientist who made significant contributions to the fields of aeronautics and propulsion. He was born on January 23, 1930, in Moscow, Russia, and passed away on April 11, 1987. Glushko is known for his work on jet engine design and development, as well as his contribution to the creation of the first Soviet supersonic fighter, the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21. He also played a crucial role in the development of solid rocket propellants and nozzles. For his contributions, Glushko was awarded the Lenin Prize and received recognition from the Soviet Union government.
