1. She was born on June 14, 1811 in Litchfield, Connecticut.
2. Her father was a minister and she became involved with the abolitionist movement after reading Frederick Douglass’ autobiography.
3. Stowe wrote Uncle Tom’s Cabin (1852), which was one of the best-selling books of its time and sparked controversy for its anti-slavery message.
