1. Born as Diana Frances Spencer on July 1, 1961, she was the fourth child and third daughter of John Spencer and his first wife, Frances Ruth Burke Roche. She grew up at the family home, Park House, near Althorp, Northamptonshire, England.
- Princess Diana married Prince Charles, the heir apparent to Queen Elizabeth II, on July 29, 1981. Their wedding was a global spectacle watched by over 750 million people worldwide and is considered one of the most-watched television broadcasts in history.
