1. Richard Starkey, known professionally as Ringo Starr, was born on July 7, 1940, in Liverpool, England.
2. He joined The Beatles in 1962 after the departure of their original drummer, Pete Best.
3. Known for his wit and humorous personality, he earned the nickname “The Quiet Beatle”.
4. Ringo played an integral role in shaping the sound of The Beatles by contributing to some of their most memorable songs, including “Yellow Submarine” and “Octopus’s Garden.”
5. His drumming style, characterized by his unconventional techniques and use of uncommon time signatures, significantly impacted future generations of musicians.
6. Apart from being a member of The Beatles, Ringo also released several solo albums and has made appearances in numerous films, such as “A Hard Day’s Night” (1964), “Help!” (1965) and “Yellow Submarine” (1968).
7. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame both as a member of The Beatles in 1988, and individually in 2015.
